Aerial View of Baton Rouge

Preserve Louisiana's newest exhibition at the Old Governor's mansion, "Aerial View of Baton Rouge" features the work of American photographer Fonville Winans. His legacy of photographing the personality of South Louisiana through people and landscapes extended to include a series of aerial images taken from a small airplane. In over 400 frames, Winans captured rare perspectives of Baton Rouge's expansion during the 1940s including images of Park Boulevard, Florida Boulevard, downtown Baton Rouge, and LSU campus. louisianastatemuseum.org.
