Amer Kobaslija: Florida Noir
to
Arthur Roger Gallery 432 Julia Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
Amer Kobaslija mesmerizes with color, with choice of subject matter, and with detail—but the most poignant aspect of his paintings tends to be his use of perspective, described as a "moth's point of view" or "standing on a hillside looking down."
In Florida Noir, this perspective gazes upon a boat overflowing from fresh-caught alligators, speeding down a waterway; agrarian pastures seen over a mountainous landfill; and a tree adorned in innertubes.
On display from August 3–September 21, Florida Noir opens with a free reception on White Linen Night from 6 pm–8 pm.
