Theatre Baton Rouge is slated to present the poignant, ever-timely drama American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown, opening at the end of the month. The play tells the story of an estranged bi-racial couple who are forced to confront their feelings on race and bias when their son is detained during a minor traffic stop, and their disparate life experiences inform their assumptions about what happened to their son. Seating is limited to forty audience members per performance to allow for adequate distancing, so reserving tickets early is encouraged. $37; $27 for students. (225) 924-6496; theatrebr.org
