Between them Asheville-based fiddler/singer Andrew Finn Magill, and multi-instrumentalist and singer Dave Curley, have collaborated with everyone from Grammy award-winners Moya Brennan of Clannad, to Ross Holmes of Mumford and Sons. Magill is an All-Ireland finalist fiddler and Ropeadope Recording artist. Hailing from Galway, Curley is one of Ireland's leading instrumentalists, vocalists, and a champion step-dancer. Not, in other words, the sort of duo you typically encounter playing an intimate Sunday afternoon gig at a local coffee shop. So when these two exciting musicians strike up at Highland Coffees this Sunday evening, those who come can expect some serious folk fireworks showcasing a wealth of genres and instruments, and representing the highest-quality Irish folk music to be heard this side of the Atlantic. 2 pm Sunday at 3350 Highland Road.
