For those seeking arts & crafts, dynamic lectures, or just solidarity with fellow bookworms, libraries are a worthwhile destination. Head to the Livingston Parish Library this month for various programs. Highlights include:
April 5 & 26: Free Garage Sale—Freecycle, upcycle, recycle. Whatever you call it, the Livingston Parish Library will help you do it! In honor of Earth Day, the library is hosting two free garage sales. Bring along your gently used household decorations, small furniture, toys, and electronics to either the Albany-Springfield Branch (from April 1–4) or to the Main Branch (April 22–25). Then come back and shop at the Albany-Springfield Branch on April 5 and the Main Branch on April 26. 9:30 am–3:30 pm.
April 24: I See You, Green Dinosaur Author Visit and Egg Hunt—Local author and illustrator duo Kat Pigott and Mason Sibley return to the Albany-Springfield Branch Library for a special meet-and-greet. Stay after for a dinosaur egg hunt and craft in the Youth Services area. Registration required at mylpl.info.
April 9, 16, 20: Adulting 101 (Ages 15–22)—This new series at Livingston Parish libraries is designed to help young adults transition into successful independence. Sessions range from cooking and housework to landing the job and managing finances. This month's theme is Debunking Diets and Health Meal Ideas. April 9 at Denham Springs-Walker Branch at 5 pm. April 16 at Main Branch in Livingston at 5 pm and at Watson Branch at 5:30 pm. April 20 at South Branch at 10:30 am. Registration required at mylpl.info.
