The Botanic Gardens at Burden hosts Arbor Day celebrations annually in Louisiana, when we reaffirm our commitment to green. Visitors are invited to celebrate the day by planting a tree in the Burden woods, taking part in the effort to reforest trees lost to Hurricane Gustav. Scale a Spanish Oak, meet Smokey the Bear, participate in a scavenger hunt, and more. Children ages 3 through 8 can also enjoy an appropriately tree-themed StoryTime in the Garden, supported in part by the Junior League of Baton Rouge. Concessions available. 9 am—1 pm.
