You've heard of Art for Art's Sake: the annual event kicking off art collecting season with exciting new exhibitions throughout New Orleans' downtown Arts District. This year, ADNO (Arts District New Orleans) is offering something different: Art Beyond Art's Sake. While the value of art is largely in the art itself, Art Beyond Art's Sake acknowledges the strife many communities locally and globally are facing; and the power of art to go beyond its usual role and contribute to solving these issues. Galleries in the Arts District New Orleans have partnered with local charities who benefit the community at large in some way, and will donate a portion of proceeds from art sales made in October to these organizations.
