Art in Mind
Mississippi Museum of Art 380 South Lamar Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39201
On the fourth Wednesday of each month, the Mississippi Museum of Art invites Alzheimer's and dementia patients into the gallery for a special exploratory tour featuring hands-on engagement in the studio designed to stimulate observation, recall, and cognition. This program is led by art therapist Susan Anand and William R. Hollingsworth Fellow McKenzie Drake, who create a fun and comfortable experience for participants of all skill levels. Tours at 10:30 am–noon and 1–2:30 pm. Free and open to the public, though registration is required by contacting Jennifer Knight at mindclinic@umc.edu. msmuseumart.org.
