On Art Rocks! Friday, January 11 at 8:30 pm and Saturday, January 12 at 5:30 pm, viewers will encounter the Central Louisiana artist Margie Tate, who captures the changing shades of light and the beauty in nature: majestic trees, sun-dappled creeks, and landscapes wreathed in a dreamy rural solitude. Next, the show heads to Mark Groaning’s gallery in Rochester, New York to see his multi-media work that is united by a common thread. In Columbus, Ohio, one woman is designing corsets inspired by the golden era of Hollywood. Then, it's back in the bayou state for our Louisiana Treasure. There are hundreds of birds on display at the LSU Museum of Natural Science. While many species are native to Louisiana, the collection also includes species that migrate here from Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, and the West Indies. Museum Director, Dr. Robb Brumfield, shares how the collection came to be.
