Artist Talk with Emilie Rhys

Artist Emilie Rhys has spent substantial time and brushstrokes capturing the movement and music of New Orleans musicians in her paintings. She descends from a lineage of three generations of portrait artists, including her father, Noel Rockmore. She unpacks her own art and her family history, as well as her relationship with her father, in her book New Orleans Music Observed: The Art of Noel Rockmore and Emilie Rhys. Rhys will be giving a talk on her book accompanied by visual components and a dinner at Beau Chene Country Club to benefit the St. Tammany Library Foundation. She will also be available to sign copies of her book following the event, for those who purchase a copy in advance and bring it.
