Artists' Talk: Le Kèr Creole
The Cabildo 701 Chartres Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116
Louisiana Creole is one of the most endangered languages in the world, which is why its legacy depends so much on artists and anthropologists responsible for the Le Kèr Creole exhibition at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. As an accompaniment, stop by the Arsenal 3 Classroom in the Cabildo at the Louisiana State Museum to listen to cultural anthropologist and curator Rachel Breunlin in conversation with photographer Bruce Sunpie Barnes, lithopone maker and painter Francis X. Pavy, and wood carver Charles Gillam about the work that went into crafting the multi-media exhibition on Cajun and Creole life. 6 pm-8 pm. louisianastatemuseum.org.
