Calling all Francophiles! In honor of Bastille Day, The Grill Room at Windsor Court and Chef de Cuisine Gabriel Charpentier will offer a special prix fixe wine dinner on Friday, July 14. The festivities begin at 6:30 pm with a champagne reception, and at 7 pm, guests will sit down for six courses of French fare paired with wines from the regions of Bordeaux, Savennieres, and Alsace.
The Bastille Day Dinner menu as follows:
• Course One: Escargot. Watercress Soup, Herbsaint, Crème Fraîche, Squid Ink Coral; with Château d'Epiré, Chenin Blanc, Savennieres, 2015.
• Course Two: Frogs Legs. Parsley, Garlic, Brown Butter Pierre Sparr; with Pinot Gris, Alsace, 2013.
• Course Three: Flavors of Onion Soup. Caramelized Onion, Roasted Garlic, Brulée Comté Fondue, Toasted Baguette; with Syrah-Grenache Rose, Campuget, “Costiéres de Nimes,” 2016.
• Course Four: Saumon à la Moutarde. Mustard-Crusted Salmon, Haricot Vert, Pomme Purée, Creole Mustard Buerre Blanc; with Jean-Jacques Girard, 1er Cru, Savigny-les-Beaune "Les Rouvrettes,” 2014.
• Course Five: Steak au Poivre. Pepper-Crusted Strip Steak, Truffle Purée, Pearl Onion, Braised Fennel, Baby Turnip; with Château Pédesclaux, Pauillac, Bordeaux, 2011.
• Course Six: Gateau Concorde; Raspberry Sorbet.; with Chateau Haut-Mayne, Sauternes.
