In America's most Caribbean city comes the "Original Caribbean Carnival." Hosted by Friends of Culture, an organization run by New Orleans locals native to parts of the Caribbean, Bayou Bacchanal exists to share the festive traditions of the Caribbean with the Crescent City community. Be sure to catch the kick off dance and opening night party with the theme of "Wear White" on the first, and then head to the celebration in Congo Square the next day.
