Bayou Lacombe Museum Grand Re-opening

St. Tammany's oldest wooden schoolhouse is opening its doors this month, reborn as the Bayou Lacombe Museum. Hoisting the responsibility of celebrating and sharing the area's rich cultural heritage and diverse geographic communities, the new museum will welcome the public on Thursday, February 7 and will be open Thursdays–Saturdays from 10 am–4 pm, and Sundays from 1 pm–4 pm. Currently on display are exhibits Chata Ima (Father Roquette, priest to the Indians), Lacombe's Choctaw Indians, a Hall of Heroes honoring locals who have served in the military, The John Davis Lumber Industry, and Rural Life in Lacombe.
