Bayou Lafourche Historic Live Oak Tour Exhibit
to
Nicholls State University 906 East 1st Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70310
Ellender Memorial Library at Nicholls State University will host a fine-art exhibit of large-format photographs by Louisiana photographer and writer, William Guion, from the Bayou Lafourche Historic Live Oak Tour. The Live Oak Tour was launched last year in March 2017 and sponsored by the Bayou Lafourche Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is a self-guided driving tour, with a website and brochure featuring photographs of the historic oaks and their locations, along with brief stories about their connection to the settlement and growth of Bayou Lafourche. The exhibit at Nicholls will feature 20 large-format color prints and several small prints of live oak trees included in the tour. Sales of prints from the exhibit will help raise funds to purchase prints for the Ellender Memorial Library’s permanent collection.
An opening reception for the exhibit will occur on February 20, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
