Bayourella

A regional twist, an unusual perspective, and a set that includes a twenty-five-foot dock jutting out over the bayou mark Bayourella: A Story of Forgiveness, presented by Dance Performance Project, Southeastern Louisiana University's resident student dance company. Choreographed by Skip Costa (who also directs), Lindsy Brown, Forrest Duplantier, and Hayley Jordan. Fusing elements of dance, theatre, and visual arts, Bayourella finds a window into Bayourella's stepmother's cruel and complex life to shed light on the treatment of her stepdaughter-turned-maid. Is she so evil after all? 7:30 pm on Wednesday–Friday at the Vonnie Borden Theatre in D Vickers Hall on campus; Education Outreach matinees at 9:30 am on Thursday and Friday. $5 for evening performances; $4 student tickets for matinee; $10 for chaperones.
