Beethoven's Ninth
First Baptist Church 529 Convention Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
Join the Baton Rouge Symphony for conductor Timothy Muffit's final concert as musical director with Beethoven's Ninth, the final complete symphony by the famed composer, composed between 1822 and 1824. Beethoven included a chorus and vocal soloists in the final movement of the piece, one of the first major composers to do so in a symphony, and Baton Rouge's performance will rely on the talents of the BRSO Chorus directed by David Shaler, soprano Emily Pulley, mezzo-soprano Betsy Bishop, tenor Paul Groves, and bass Raymond Aceto. 6:30 pm–8 pm. $37–$65. brso.org.
