Belle Journal hosts a release party for its highly-anticipated second edition. Belle Journal was founded in 2012 by Janey Hogan and Amelia Tritico. Following the release of Volume One, the editors took a brief hiatus and have spent the past four years collecting works for Volume Two. The result is a truly unique and mesmerizing collection of poetry, prose, and visual art by Southern women from all walks of life. In an effort to redefine the term “Southern Belle,” Belle Journal is committed to publishing work that portrays a realistic Southern experience, be it horrific or absurd. The release for Volume II will be at The Radio Bar in Mid-City Baton Rouge, on July 15 from 4 pm until 8 pm. Free food and limited champagne will be provided. The evening will also feature vendor booths from local makers, including Mimosa Handcrafted, Gutwrench Press, and Beneath the Bark Jewelry. bellejournal.com.
