Big Top Cake & Pastry Competition

Now here is a People's Choice Award you definitely want a say in. The Southern Food & Beverage Museum, Delgado Community College, and John E Koerner & Co., present the fourth annual New Orleans Big Top Cake Competition and Bakery Carnival this weekend, themed "Summer Dreams!" 

Professionals, home bakers, and students will go head to head, cream cheese icing to meringue for the champion title. Competitors will be judged by professionals as well as the public, who will also get to enjoy samples from the Bakery Carnival, a showcase of local bakeries sampling out their best work. 

Free entry with museum admission ($10.50; $5.25 for students, seniors, and military; free for members). Doors open at 11 am, kicking off with a Cake Decorating demo by Dee Levigne of Deelightful Cupcakes. Winners will be announced at 1:45 pm.
