Brahms Requiem

The LPO continues its Fantastic Journey with a program of remembrance at the Orpheum, featuring reflective works by Brahms, Barber, and Ravel. The concert begins solemnly with Ravel’s beautiful Pavane for a Dead Princess, followed by the LPO’s debut performance of Barber’s Prayers of Kierkegaard. Finally, New Orleans’ own Sarah Jane McMahon, soprano; Grant Youngblood, baritone; NOVA Masterworks and Loyola Chorale combine to provide the impressive vocal forces for Johannes Brahms’ spiritual masterpiece, A German Requiem. 7:30 pm both nights.
