Note: The Virtual Speakeasy is rescheduled for September 13, but all other events below will continue on August 30.
Though Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre's annual Dancin' at the Mansion fundraiser this past March was thrown off of its footing by COVID, the local company will host a "Virtual Speakeasy" and day of online FUNdraising at the end of August. Somewhat like the speakeasies of the 1920s, except now we have internet and liquor is legal (and thank goodness for that). Local mixologists will lead a Zoom session walking guests through how to make two unique craft cocktails, with all supplies and a generous charcuterie board provided. The schedule for the fun, movement and libation packed day is as follows:
1 pm: Welcome from the Directors, Facebook Live
1:15 pm: Stretch and Relax Yoga Class, Facebook Live
2:30 pm: Basic adult ballet class (beginners), Facebook Live
5 pm: "Virtual Speakeasy" Happy Hour hosted by Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar, Zoom
1-9 pm: Auction Buy Now Sale, all items at 10% off of their original value.
