Brownbag Talks on Farmers of St. Landry Parish

Pack up a lunch and head to the Opelousas Museum for a series of presentations by Marie Marcel in conjunction with the exhibition Negro Farmers of St. Landry Parish. Marcel, who has researched Opelousas-area family genealogy and history for over thirty years, will lead the presentations on the following topics from 11 am–1 pm:
March 9: Learn about the history, lifestyle, and economy of local farmers.
March 16, 23 & 30: Hear about area residents' personal experiences on the farm.
The project and exhibit are sponsored by the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area, a division of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
