The first weekend in September marks the 20th Annual Cane River Zydeco Festival, bringing plenty of Cajun music, rides, motorcycle games, activities, and competitions to the downtown riverbank of historic Natchitoches. Friday night's events include a Zydeco Dance Competition that promises entertainment, and Saturday festivities are revved off with a poker run throughout Kisatche Forest and along Cane River Lake for the chance to win a cash prize.
