Casey Joiner Artist Talk and Closing Reception at Sibyl Gallery

Louisiana native Casey Joiner presents Surrounded by Natural Causes at Sibyl Gallery, a recent addition to the New Orleans arts scene located Uptown. In this collection, Joiner investigates the aftermath of her father's death in 2023. Details become haunting specimens of loss and memory. The everyday ephemera that she captures are imbued with new meaning and questions. Joiner, based in New Orleans, says her work "is informed by her affection for places full of peculiar nonsense and deep struggle, slow things, long standing traditions, and growing up in the Deep South."  An artist talk and closing reception will be held August 18 5 pm–8 pm.
