Children's Day at the Library

Feliz Día de los Niños! Celebrate Children's Day with your local library and indulge in the universal joy of families, children, and culture.

Eden Park Branch Library: A reading of the Calcedott book Jambo Means Hello by Muriel Feelings will allow children and adults alike to engage in African culture. Attendees will then get to practice and show off their best efforts of pronouncing Swahili word sounds. Ages 7 and up.

Fairwood Branch Library: Enjoy a reading of Mina Javaherbin's book,The Secret Message, based on a poem by the celebrated poet Rumi. In it, a beautiful parrot dreams of freedom from inside his golden cage. Children will later get the chance to make their own parrot using cardboard tubes and feathers. Ages 5-10.
