Chitimacha Pow Wow

Experience a traditional Chitimacha Pow Wow at the Pavilion at Cypress Bayou Casino, where dancers of all ages will compete for the title of Pow Wow champion in categories of: Traditional, Straight, Fancy, Grass, Cloth, Buckskin, and Jingle. Food and craft vendors on site. Doors open at 11 am; performances begin at noon. There will also be a special presentation film screening by Louisiana Public Broadcasting of An Introduction to Powwow at 4:30 pm, proceeding after the hand drum competition at 4 pm.$5 admission. chitimacha.gov.
