NOLA Cochon de Lait Festival
A pork-fueled fiesta to reckon with
Palmer Park South Claiborne at South Carrollton, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118
The inaugural NOLA Cochon de Lait Festival has two goals, both worthy: to celebrate the wide variety of scrumptious pork products and to raise money for local nonprofit COPS 2, which offers counseling and other support services to New Orleans police officers and their families. A wide variety of local restaurant will provide foods, including Crepes a la Carte, Jacques-Imo’s, LaDelyo’s Creole Catering, and the Yakamein Lady; music comes courtesy of Sam’s Funky Nation, Daria and the Hip Drops, Soul Rebels and Rockin Dopsie & the Zydeco Twisters. Vendors compete for the titles like “Best Cracklin.” 11 am-6 pm. nolaporkfest.com.
