As the virtuoso Greek pianist Froso Ktstaki develops her dissertation at the Ionian University in Greece on the piano music of Louisiana State University professor Dinos Constantinides, she has brought her renditions of his music across the world in a series of greatly lauded recitals. Now she brings his music back to him with a special concert at the LSU School of Music Recital Hall. 7:30 pm. Free.
Other programming includes a concert at Southeastern Louisiana University on March 12, a concert of Constantinides students' works in the Choral Room at LSU on March 13, and a lecture recital at the LSU Middleton Library discussing her dissertation on March 14.
Dinos Constantinides' over 230 compositions have been performed by symphony orchestras worldwide including the English Chamber Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, the Shenzhen Symphony, the Bohuslav Martinu Chamber Orchestra, the Black Sea Harmonic, and many many more. His work has been critically acclaimed in Fanfare Magazine, The New York Times, the Times-Picayune, London's Opera magazine, and by countless musicians. He now holds the position at Louisiana State University as Boyd Professor, the highest academic rank at the university, as head of the Composition area, and as Music Director of the Louisiana Sinfonietta.
