The Historic New Orleans Collection and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra presents its thirteenth installment of the popular series Musical Louisiana: America's Cultural Heritage, entitled "Direct from New Orleans!" which examines different aspects of the state's contributions to classical music.
Selections for the 2019 concert at St. Louis Cathedral highlight Crescent City composers and performers who have made the leap and brought New Orleans sounds to a worldwide audience. The concert will be conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto, narrated by former WDSO anchor Norman Robinson, and performers will include tenor Derek Domino, soprano Amy Owens, tenor Carlos Enrique Santelli, and organist John Walthausen.
