Join the East Baton Rouge Parish Master Gardeners for their 2021 Library series, featuring a special set of presentations on various gardening skills at local libraries.
October 7: At the Jones Creek Branch Library, Louisiana Master Gardener Donna Montgomery will lead the evening with a presentation of "Underground Beauties: Bulbs, Corms, Rhizomes, and Tubers." She will advise on selection, care, planting, fertilization, and best practices in planting a variety of bulbs to last you through the entire season. Kathy Morris will follow with a presentation on "Trees for South Louisiana." She will overview the characteristics of various species that grow best in our region, including size, needs, and positioning.
October 19: At the Main Branch Library, Louisiana Master Gardener Richard Babin will lead a discussion on "Planning and Building a Garden: For Beginner Gardeners". The presentation will guide new gardeners through how to best plan a garden, select what to plant, care for crops, harvest produce, and various other skills. Afterwards, LMG Cheri Fasi will follow with "Successful Propagation for the Home Gardener," demonstrating how to grow new plants and to save money with stem cuttings, leaf cuttings, and root divisions. 5:30 pm–7:30 pm. Free, and open to the public.
