Emery Clark Retrospective
Opening a series of six exhibits
to
Christwood 100 Christwood Boulevard, Covington, Louisiana 70433
A series of six art exhibitions in the Christwood Atrium Gallery opens with a long-anticipated retrospective by acclaimed Northshore artist Emery Clark. Clark has painted over two thousand works, mostly landscapes inspired by her travels or beauty of the Gulf Coast beaches and the waters and wetlands of south Louisiana. She uses an intricate technique of combining photographic images with pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, or watercolors to create impressionistic and photo-realistic illusions that lyrically portray the natural environments that surround us. Clark usually starts her pieces with very small studies from nature, then grows them to large masterpieces – some measuring as much as forty-four by eighteen feet.
An official opening reception September 29 from 4:30 pm-6 pm will be free and open to the public and feature refreshments, music, and drawings for door prizes.
