Famed Blues musician Chris Thomas King will speak on the ways the blues genre has impacted his life and identity in the West Baton Rouge Historical Association's annual Ethel Claiborne Dameron Lecture Series. A sharing stories and insights on the blues, while dispelling myths—like the popularly held belief that blues originated in the Delta—King's presentation will be titled The Blues: The Authentic Narrative of My Music and Culture.
This lecture series is held annually in memory of Ethel Claiborne Dameron, the founder of the West Baton Rouge Historical Association and West Baton Rouge Museum, where the lecture will take place.
