Fall 2022 Storytimes at the Ascension Parish Libraries

This fall, Ascension Parish Libraries have announced their schedule for upcoming storytimes—suited for ages birth to five years old.
Babytime, designed for tinies age zero to eighteen months and their families, will take place at 10 am on Tuesdays in Gonzales and Thursdays in Dutchtown. These sessions— featuring interactive board books, sing-a-longs, nursery rhymes, and fingerplays—last about twenty minutes.
Toddler Storytime, designed for more active littles ages fifteen months to two years, promotes literacy skills through interactive picture books, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. These will be held on Wednesdays at all Ascension Parish Library locations from September 28–November 16 at 10 am, and last about twenty-five minutes.
Preschool Storytime, designed for children ages three to five years, introduces lighthearted books and music, promoting reading readiness and a love for books. These will be held on Wednesdays in Gonzales, Dutchtown, and Galvez at 11 am.

Bilingual Storytime : Designed for Spanish-speaking families to practice their English and for English-speaking families to practice their Spanish—this thirty minute session incorporates stories, songs, active play, and easy crafts. Held September 15 at 6 pm at the Gonzales Branch and September 22 at 10 am at the Galvez Branch. Free.
Pajama Storytime: Start winding down after a busy day by bringing the tykes, pajama-ready, to this storytime reading. Held at 6:30 pm on the second and third Thursday of the month at alternating branches—In September, held at the Gonzalez and Galvez libraries on September 8 and the Dutchtown library on September 15.
