Fall Gardens at Carver Library
Carver Branch Library 720 Terrace Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
If your fall garden planning hasn't proceeded far beyond the vague thought of squash, head to the Carver Branch library for two presentations from the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners. First up, "Now Is the Time to Prepare for a Fall Vegetable Garden" makes its purpose clear: don't delay during the June swelter! Louisiana Master Gardener Kerry Hawkins lectures on the importance of early site preparation as well as insects (good and bad) you might encounter in the beds.
Louisiana Master Gardener Don Moore follows up with "Plant Selection for Fall Gardens," speaking on recommended fall vegetables as well as starting vegetables from seeds versus transplants. 6 pm–8 pm. ebrmg.com.
