WWOZ heard we enjoyed the original Festing in Place in Jazz Fest's stead this spring, so they've headed the call and brought it back with Festing in Place: The Next Fest Thing. Break out your khaki shorts and old Jazz Fest button-downs (or whatever your preferred festival attire), and prepare to enjoy seven days of New Orleans' finest live music, live-streamed to anywhere in the world that happens to have internet access. Music performances are pulled from the video archives of previous Jazz Fests, Voodoo Fests, and other iconic New Orleans-centric performances featuring the likes of Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, The Meters, The Neville Brothers, and more. The broadcast will also include interviews on crucial aspects of New Orleans culture like food, history, and of course music. wwoz.org/festing-place-next-fest-thing for the full lineup and stream times.
