August 1 & 4: The Last Black Man in San Fransisco (2019): Jimmie Fails plays himself in this odyssey of friendship and home. 7:30 pm on August 1; 2 pm on August 4. $9.50.
August 8 & 11: Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am (2019): In this vital work of documentary by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, we are given a look into the story of one of America's most masterful writers, and one of the most artful and rich literary illustrators of the African American experience. 7:30 pm on August 8; 2 pm on August 11. $9.50.
August 9: The Cure Anniversary Live in Hyde Park (2019): Directed by long-time Cure collaborator Tim Pope, this film celebrates 40 years of on of music history's most iconic rock bands with an on-stage capture of the band on stage on a perfect July evening in London. 7:30 pm. $9.50.
August 14: The Quiet One (2019): The most famously private of The Stones, Billy Wyman, speaks up in a powerful and intoxicating reflection on his life as a reluctant rock star. 7:30 pm. $9.50.
August 15–16: Midsommar (2019): A young American couple tries to save their relationship by traveling to the fabled Swedish midsummer festival. Things go sinister quickly. 7:30 pm both nights. $9.50.
August 17–18: Sword of Trust (2019): A cranky Alabama pawn shop owner, a Civil War-era sword, and conspiracy theories in the Deep Deep South. 7:30 pm on August 17; 2 pm on August 18. $9.50.
August 23 & 25: Ophelia (2018): It's a tragic story, one you know. But this time it's told from her perspective. 7:30 pm on August 23; 2 pm on August 25. $9.50.
