The Contemporary Fiber Artists of Louisiana (CFAL) will be featured in an exhibit at the Baton Rouge Bluebonnet Branch Library, showcasing fiber works inspired by memorable books chosen by the artists. “For the Love of Books” is designed to travel to libraries throughout Louisiana, showcasing the creative work of modern fiber artists while also encouraging the public to reflect on the value of books in our lives.
CFAL members practice a wide variety of art disciplines, including creating art quilts, embroidery, weaving, digital fiber arts, crochet and knitting, rug hooking, doll making and structural fiber arts with 3-D construction, jewelry with fiber elements, beading, and general surface design and embellishment. The group regularly sponsors low-cost classes and workshops on a broad range of topics, and CFAL welcomes fiber enthusiasts at all stages of their development, from beginner to professional.
