Fragile Grounds at the Library

This evening at the Main Library, Jessica H. Schexnayder leads a special book talk on Fragile Grounds: Louisiana’s Endangered Cemeteries, co-authored with Mary Manhein. Fragile Grounds compiles stories and photographs of endangered cemeteries throughout Louisiana’s coastal zone and beyond, showcasing the state's diverse burial customs and traditions as well as the urgent need to document cultural elements at risk. These burial places link the fragile land to the frailty of the state’s threatened community structures. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation. 7 pm at the Main Library. ebrpl.com.
