Friday Nights at NOMA: Hannah Chalew and Southerly Gold

As part of the New Orleans Museum of Art's Friday night programming, New Orleans artist Hannah Chalew will present a discussion on her perspectives of the exhibition Inventing Acadia: Painting and Place in Louisiana from 6 pm–7:30 pm. [Read about Chalew and her work in this story from our November 2019 issue.] From 6 pm–8 pm, guests can also listen in on a Gallery Talk by the ensemble of photographers known as Southerly Gold, who—in conjunction with Inventing Acadia—will present an installation in the Evelyn L. Burkenroad Studio that revisits many of the locations in South Louisiana painted by landscape artists in the 19th century. Music will also be provided by Phil Cramer and Will Bowling, and a performance by Serpentine Choir will close out the evening at 8 pm. Regular admission applies; NOMA members are free. noma.org.
