If you saw "Fried Chicken Festival" and thought, "Oooh, I've got to check that out ..." you're not alone. Come to the New Orleans Lakefront at Franklin Avenue this weekend to celebrate the almighty fried bird with this outdoor festival—which is returning in full swing after a two-year hiatus. Favorite local restaurants like Bonafried, Heard Dat Kitchen, Southern's, and countless more will be in attendance slinging their fried chicken delicacies. Plus, this year there will be a car showcase, vendor marketplace, and "Kids Coop" to entertain the whole family. And as the festival is presented by Raising Cane's, the ONE LOVE wall will allow festival goers to share messages of encouragement, love, and love of fried chicken. Doors open at 11 am both days. $12.80 general admission, $46.75 for access to the VIP lounges. friedchickenfestival.com.
