A national touring exhibition from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum looks at animal military mascots from back to the Civil War, and how animals such as lions, monkeys, and dogs have historically served as mascots and boosted morale and pride for troops as well as civilians. The USS KIDD Veterans Museum has also curated a display about Lucky and Scotty, the USS Kidd's World War II ship dog mascots, which will run alongside the touring exhibit. usskidd.com.
