The 155th anniversary of the battle of Oakley Plantation approaches. This weekend, at what is now known as the Audubon State Historic Site, visitors will see a recreation of the sights and sounds of the Civil War in October 1864. Each day, walk through the soldier camps and see living history demonstrations of soldier life by re-enactors in blue and grey. Hear black powder weapon demonstrations of both rifle and cannons and watch a daily re-enactment of the battle. All activities conclude 2 pm Sunday. (225) 635-3739.
