Tony Green—the New Orleans native, part-time Venetian, full-time musician and visual artist—is a man of many creative outlets. Known in this country for his eponymously named band Tony Green & Gypsy Jazz, these days Tony spends the majority of his time in resplendent Venice, Italy, where he creates vibrant paintings of the city, while entertaining the Italians with his musical ensemble Tony Green and Gypsy Jazz. Green's large murals can be found throughout New Orleans, at institutions that include Isadore Newman School, Mid City Rock n' Bowl, Ralph's in the Park restaurant, the Holiday Inn Downtown, and the Whitney Windham Hotel. Green was chosen as the official poster artist for the 2017 French Quarter Festival, and commissioned to create posters for the Crescent City Classic, Krewe d' Etat, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Orleans Opera and the Rex Carnival organization among others.
Come by Stafford Tile to see an exhibit of paintings by Green, plus fine, hand-blown Murano glass and ceramic pieces. 10 am–5 pm at 5234 Magazine Street. (504) 895-5000.
