Join our friends at New Orleans' Southbound Gardens for a series of classes on various topics in sustainable agriculture, gardening, and simple love of the outdoors:
June 7: Beekeeping: Understand the life of the beehive super organism using all your senses. Learn how to get started keeping bees, and how basic management techniques relate to the life cycle of the hive.
June 14: Growing An Herbal Garden: A gardener and an herbalist will walk you through the steps of growing an array of herbs suitable to New Orleans climate, as well as their uses.
June 21: Raising Urban Chickens: Learn about coops and runs, raising chicks, egg production, buying adult birds, egg-eaters and broody hens, feed, and more!
June 28: Survival Herbalism: Learn how to survive on plants that grow naturally in our area.
All classes at 6 pm and are held at Sprouts NOLA (2600 Conti) except Survival Herbalism, which will be held at Sangoma House (618 S Pierce). southboundgardens.com.
