Gonzales, the self-proclaimed "Jambalaya Capital of the World," hosts its annual festival dedicated to your favorite regional meat and rice concoction (and surely, around here, there are plenty). The event is free to the public and features a jamba-cooking contest, carnival rides, a car show, and live music by Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition, the Allison Collins Band, The Jovin Webb Experience, Ghost Riders Band, and more. Free. Friday bands play from 5:30 pm–midnight, Saturday from 11 am–midnight, and Sunday from noon–11 pm. Full schedule at jambalayafestival.net.
