"Gyotaku" or "fish rubbing" is an ancient Japanese printmaking style originally used by fishermen to document the size of their catches. Baton Rouge artist Leslie Charleville utilizes this unique method to capture the beauty and individuality of natural specimens, and now her artwork will be on display at Tsunami Sushi on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center through the end of the year. The exhibit will open with a reception called "Tako Tuesday" ("tako" is Japanese for "octopi"), from 6 pm–8 pm on December 7. lcharlevillestudios.com. batonrouge.servingsushi.com.
