Halfway to St. Patrick's Day
The Overpass Merchant 2904 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808
Would that everyday were St. Patrick's Day in Baton Rouge. Alas, we have a whole year between emerald extravaganzas. The pain is lessened by a halfway point—and it's for a good cause, too. Celebrate "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day" with a Southdowns pub crawl, snaking from The Overpass Merchant to Ivar's, Zippy's, and Bumsteers—all territory that will be strewn, in three months time, with green beads and green beer. The evening also provides an opportunity to announce the Wearin' of the Green Parade's 2020 Grand Marshal, at the afterparty in the Merchant's parking lot, where guests can also enjoy bagpipes and free Tin Roof beer.
6 pm at The Overpass Merchant. Proceeds from the event benefit Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research. $25 at halfwaybash.eventbrite.com, $35 day of. Ticket holders will receive Tin Roof beer specials during the pub crawl. Prizes will be given for the best green wigs and green attire.
