Originally founded as a fundraising initiative to support Project Lazarus, a home in New Orleans for men and women living with AIDS, Halloween New Orleans has grown to a full-fledged ever-inclusive Halloween Festival.
With this year's theme of Wonderland, the events kick off Friday at the formal Queen's Ball and Silent Auction, held at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Expect elaborate, black tie attire, an open bar and food, entertainment by DJ Alexis Tucci, and drag performances. 7 pm–10 pm. $95.
Saturday, head to the Filmore for a Nightmare in Wonderland costume party, with performances by Aquaria and DJ, along with DJ Alexis Tucci. Open vodka bar. 10 pm–3 am. $125.
Finally, on Sunday, recoup at the Mad Hatter's Tea Dance, held in the New Orleans Jazz Museum courtyard. Music provided by DJ Joey with the Mustache, ushering in a Tea Dance and a classic New Orleans Second Line. 2:30 pm–6 pm. $80.
