Hilltop Symposium: Landscape for Life
LSU Design Auditorium 302 Field House Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70803
This year, Hilltop Arboretum focuses on sustainable and adaptive gardening for their annual symposium. Come for tips on how to work with nature in your garden, no matter where you live or how much space you have. Symposium speakers are Damon Waitt Ph.D., director of the North Carolina Botanic Garden at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Jonathan Garner, a landscape sustainability professional out of Austin. Both were members of the team that developed the Landscape for Life program in partnership with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas, and the United States Botanic Garden on the grounds of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Participants will have the chance to shop the Hilltop Garden Book and Nature Shop during the hospitality break and purchase plants. A complete list of plants available for sale will be posted online one week prior to the symposium at lsu.edu/hilltop. Registration is required via hilltop@lsu.edu, lsu.edu/hilltop, or (225) 767-6916. Registration before January 20 is $65, $50 for members, and $5 for students. At the door: $75 general, $60 for members, and $10 for students. 8:30 am–1 pm.
