Holiday Movies on the Plaza

The Main Library at Goodwood invites elves of all ages to free holiday movies this month in the Outdoor Plaza. Each feature begins at 7 p.m., with guests encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for optimum coziness and the enjoyment of refreshments from local vendor the Lemonade Bus. 

  • Wednesday, December 13: The Nightmare Before Christmas. In this 1993 stop-motion classic conceived by Tim Burton, the king of Halloween Town, Jack Skellington, struggles to introduce the cheer of the newly discovered Christmas Town to his spooky subjects.
  • Wednesday, December 20: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Year Without a Santa Claus. This double feature begins with the 1966 animated film about a grumpy green hermit who wants to steal Christmas from the Whos of Whoville, and ends with the 1974 comedy starring Mickey Rooney and Shirley Booth as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
